7.40pm...

...and still not dark! You've got to love British Summer Time!

Hilarious...

Spotted this tile in the loo of a pub near London Bridge. I don't think I've ever seen so many mistakes in one place! At first I wondered whether they'd done it on purpose, but they can't have done...!

Eyeliner...

I decided I needed to make more of my eyes now that I've got more of a heavy fringe, because I didn't want my fringe to dominate my face. I'd always been wary of eyeliner, worrying that I'd end up looking like Claudia Winkleman, but Suze showed me how to do it properly and I think it looks OK!

Messing about on the canal...

My friend wanted some help to move her boat from Little Venice to Islington, so a crew duly assembled and tackled the locks! With an audience of millions of tourists all filming us and taking photos and making 'helpful' comments - I can see why she wanted moral support! Oh, and it was raining. But I made pink cakes, so everything was fab in the end.

Chocolate pud!

My sister came to stay, and her visits always give me a chance to experiment with SF (that's Suze-friendly, i.e. no wheat, gluten or dairy) recipes. This particular one came from this fab vegan blog, and it was gorgeous! Suze said 'Are you sure I can eat this??' which is usually a good sign!

Another dress...

I really shouldn't be allowed near Primark. Apologies for the lack of photo for yesterday...I just didn't get round to finding anything decent to snap! *slaps wrist*

The pinkest pink cake in the world...

It's a lemon sponge with raspberry icing - the icing's genius, you just push raspberries through a fine sieve, add a tiny bit of lemon juice and then mix with enough icing sugar to make a thick paste. YUM!

And it's quite fitting, because it's my dad's birthday today. Happy birthday Dad!

Orchid...

As my windowbox is now actually being a windowbox, the little set of shelves where the windowbox used to live was looking a little bare. So I bought a lovely orchid...I hope I can keep it alive!

Run run run...

This is my Sportband - it tells me how far and how fast I've run (and how many calories I've burned!) and then I can upload all the info onto the Nike Running website. It's very clever (thank you Suze, who bought it for me for Christmas!)

Today it's telling me that I've just run 7.5 miles in 1:24.23. Not bad!

Mmm, sprouts...

I didn't like sprouts until about two years ago...now I love them. Especially in stir-fries.

Ah, Nutella...

...food of the gods! I made this toast and Nutella beauty because I was meant to be going running at 6.30 this evening and thought I'd better have something to sustain me. What? I was going to be burning 800 calories! But then my running mate, Pete, was delayed on the Tube, and I twisted my back during my assistant refereeing escapades on Sunday and am still in some pain, so all in all we decided tonight probably wasn't the night for running. Which made the toast and Nutella slightly redundant, but I'd eaten it by then!

Herby windowbox!

I used to have this 'windowbox' indoors, on a little shelf under my living room window. But my herbs never seemed to do particularly well - I think herbs need to be outside! So I've moved it to my bedroom window ledge, and I now have rosemary, lavender and lemon thyme.

Oi, referee!

Or, in this case, 'Oi, assistant referee!' Photo courtesy of Pete.

Rambling on...

I couldn't choose just one photo from my ramble along sections 7 and 8 of the Capital Ring (that's Richmond to Greenford) so you can have five of my favourites instead as a weekend bonus!

Out with the old...

...and in with the new trainers! Once the blister on my foot has healed and I can face the idea of going running again, that is...

Eye of the Tiger...

2:35.01. Not the sub-2:30 time I wanted (and had trained for) but a PB nonetheless!

The biggest church in the world...or is it?

This is Taunton - I always think the two churches in this view look like one enormous one!

Monday's carbohydrate of choice...

The Bath half-marathon is on Sunday so I'm making sure all my meals this week involve carbs!
